In late summer 2009, two friends who had been making music together already earlier, decided to turn other one’s idea of combining elements of metal and techno music into reality. They asked two of their musician friends to join them as guitarist and vocalist, and so Rammas Atas was born.

The name Rammas Atas sounds somewhat strange, but there’s an explanation for it. With some twisted logic the name means ”bound to the outer circle”. And what does THAT mean? Well, there’s gotta be some mysteries left…

From the very beginning it was obvious that the band would be a comprehensive package that, besides the music, would include a lot of attention put into the visual expression. Part of the overall package was that in the Rammas Atas –context the members would be using artist names.

Soon after starting the band, Corvus Candidus met the members of an eurodance/trance –band at some rock festivals, and suggested them some kind of collaboration. At that time he was mainly thinking about things like sounds and programming, but it soon became obvious the band could handle this stuff by themselves, when Dj Ridhu revealed his concealed talents in this area. Instead Corvus asked the female vocalist of this techno band to help them with the vocal melodies, and also to feature on their albums and possibly on live performances, too. The cooperation started very well, and when she had recorded her parts for the promo-CD, the guys realized that without this element the band would still be missing something. So they asked if the lady would be interested in working closer with the band. Her answer exceeded the band’s expectations and fulfilled their secret wishes: she told she would be interested in joining the band as a member!

The 3-song promo-CD was done between Nov 2009 and the beginning of Feb 2010. The recordings and mixings were done by Dj Ridhu with his own studio equipment. During 6 months of existence, around 10 songs have already been written, so after finishing the promo, the band started rehearsing their live set. At the same time they’re working with the performance outfits and other stage props. There really is a strong DIY-spirit in the band! They’ve also purchased some special light equipment and fog machines to add the techno feeling to their shows.

The main composer of Rammas Atas is Dj Ridhu, and also Arctos and Corvus Candidus are composing music for the band. Corvus writes the lyrics for the songs, whereas the female vocalist creates the vocal melodies to where they are needed. The arrangements are mainly taken care of by Dj Ridhu, but also the rest of the band takes part in that process.

The band is heading for the beginning of May, 2010 to start performing live shows. From that on, they will be putting up blasting live shows in the rock clubs around the country. They are also aiming to the venues outside of Finland – Rammas Atas is meant to be an international invasion!

Also a music video is coming up in the near future. The video is not only supposed to introduce the band’s music, but also to give an idea of what to expect of their live performances.

Rammas Atas is going to start working on their debut album sometime in the late summer, and the album is scheduled to be out in late 2010.
